Make a Road Safety Week display
Road Safety Week is a great opportunity to discuss safe, sustainable travel not only with your students, but with parents and other visitors to your school as well.
One way to make an impact is by creating a colourful display in your classroom, assembly hall, reception area or a corridor. This activity can be done by children of all ages – for example, after discussing why it’s important to hold hands with an adult when walking by a road, preschool children can make a collage of handprints under a “We hold hands” banner. For older children, you can get them thinking about what impact dangerous roads has on their community and the environment.
The Road Safety Week action pack will also contain posters you can use to decorate your school for the Week.
